Michael is a lifelong artist who began to explore his artistic abilities at Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio, where he grew up. While he studied for only one year at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Michael's desire and discipline as an artist have continued to grow with each turn in his career. Michael made a recent move to Portland from North Hero, Vermont to dedicate more time to his artwork and to collaborate with his artist sister and Portland resident, Elizabeth Fraser.

A passionate painter, Michael works primarily in oils, but also enjoys experimenting in watercolors. His inspiration for painting comes from the New England landscape and the lake Champlain region of Vermont where Michael spent all of his childhood summers and the past 7 years of his life.

The dramatic changing of seasons and the weather patterns that blow across lake Champlain and the Maine coast capture Michael's eye and draw him to his easel, where he generally completes a painting in one sitting. Viewers of Michael's work will see a series of works depicting North Hero, Mount Mansfield, Lake Champlain as well as scenes from Portland's Casco Bay.
